BC Technical Inc., a molecular imaging solutions provider based in Salt Lake City, Utah announced on Tuesday that it acquired C&G Technologies, an independent CT service provider.
"It really strengthens our CT service and support capabilities," a spokesperson from BC Technical told DOTmed News.
C&G Technologies provides customers with refurbished GE and Toshiba CT systems, service technicians, and a complete inventory of CT parts.

The acquisition strengthens BC Technical's position as a non-OEM on the service side of medical imaging.
"We have over 100 Field Service Engineers across the nation, and continue to grow," said Mark Alvarez, president and CEO of BC Technical, in a statement. "Our Engineers now have multi-modality tier 2 and tier 3 clinical and technical support, including parts, provided from each of our three 50,000 sq. ft. centers of excellence. We are the only non-OEM that can provide this level of coverage nationwide."
This is the seventh acquisition by BC Technical over a 20 month period. In June, the company
acquired MEDX LLC, a distributor of new and refurbished molecular imaging equipment. In January, BC Technical
acquired Genesis Medical, a CT, MRI and PET/CT service specialist. It was the first non-molecular imaging acquisition by the company. C&G Technologies is the second — and likely not the last. Alvarez told DOTmed News back in June that he plans to acquire more CT and MR companies in addition to nuclear medicine and PET service companies going forward. "There are a lot of deals to be done," he said.
The terms of the agreement with C&G Technologies were not disclosed.
