Sutter Health has announced plans to expand its Elk Grove campus with a new 56,000-square-foot specialty care center.
The $67.8 million project will add 44 physicians to the Sutter Elk Grove Care Complex on Laguna Boulevard, enhancing access to specialty services in cardiology, neurology, urology, and women’s health. The expansion will also bring more primary care providers to the region.
This development is part of Sutter Health’s broader efforts to increase healthcare access across Northern California. Elk Grove, one of the state’s fastest-growing cities, is seen as a key area for expansion. In addition to this project, Sutter is also planning new multi-care centers in Folsom and Roseville.
Sutter Medical Group’s chief medical officer Dr. Karun Grossman highlighted the convenience the new center will offer, saying it will provide a “one-stop-shop” for various healthcare needs, including outpatient surgeries, urgent care, and specialized clinics.
The new facility will join the existing Sutter Elk Grove Surgery Center, expanding the availability of surgical services in the area. Sutter Health’s long-term goal is to reduce travel times for patients and improve access to timely care.
The organization is also working to recruit additional physicians and enhance digital health offerings as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.
Construction is set to begin in mid-2025 and be completed in 2026.
