AdventHealth Riverview, a new hospital in Riverview, Florida, has opened its doors to the growing population in South Hillsborough County.
The 282,000-square-foot facility, part of AdventHealth’s West Florida Division, represents a $263 million investment and will initially offer 82 beds, with plans to expand to 202 as demand increases. The hospital will provide a wide range of services, including emergency care, cardiology, labor and delivery, bariatric and general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and spine care.
Equipped with advanced technology, AdventHealth Riverview features three Da Vinci 5 surgical robots and a hybrid operating room for vascular and cardiac procedures. The facility also houses secure mother and baby suites, with eight labor and delivery rooms and dedicated C-section units. To further support critical care, the hospital has a rooftop helipad for rapid patient transport by air.
"AdventHealth Riverview will be a beacon of hope and healing for the community," said Jason Newmyer, the hospital's president and CEO. He emphasized the health system’s commitment to whole-person care, addressing not only physical but also mental and spiritual needs.
The hospital’s location near Hillsborough County Fire Station 16 ensures quick access for first responders, while its design, led by architect HuntonBrady, allows for future growth. Construction firm Robins & Morton played a key role in bringing the project to completion. The facility has already created over 1,000 jobs, further supporting the region’s development.
AdventHealth Riverview is expected to alleviate the burden on nearby hospitals and offer more accessible care for residents of Riverview and neighboring communities.
