RadNet and Saint Alphonsus Health System, part of Trinity Health, have announced the formation of a joint venture through the acquisition of Intermountain Medical Imaging.
Intermountain Medical Imaging is a comprehensive outpatient radiology imaging center with five locations in the Boise, Idaho region.
The joint venture includes three imaging centers in Meridian and Eagle, along with two sites located within Saint Alphonsus medical centers. Services across the sites include MR, CT, PET/CT, mammography, ultrasound and X-ray. RadNet will oversee operations at all five locations and the joint venture is expected to generate about $30 million in annual revenue for the company.

Gem State Radiology, the existing radiology group, will continue to provide professional services through a team of nearly 30 radiologists. The group will also adopt RadNet’s DeepHealth technology platform for imaging interpretation and reporting.
The deployment includes a cloud-based imaging management system, reporting tools supported by artificial intelligence, and software designed to coordinate multiple AI applications. Additional clinical AI tools cleared by the FDA are intended to support detection and analysis across specialties such as oncology and neurology.
Operational systems are also part of the rollout. These include a radiology information system, patient engagement tools for scheduling and follow-up, and workflow automation software aimed at improving efficiency across imaging centers.
Norman Hames, president and CEO of western operations at RadNet, said the collaboration addresses challenges such as fragmented IT infrastructure and workforce constraints. “The integration of DeepHealth solutions addresses key industry challenges, including fragmented IT systems, diagnostic variability and workforce shortages to deliver faster, more consistent and more scalable care,” he said.
David McFadyen, president and CEO of Saint Alphonsus Health System, said the partnership is intended to improve workflows and patient experience while supporting referring physicians.
