RadNet has expanded into Indiana through the acquisition of outpatient imaging assets from Northwest Radiology Network, P.C., adding six centers in the greater Indianapolis area and marking the company’s first presence in the Midwest.
The imaging services provider said the transaction includes six multimodality outpatient centers, several of which are located in Carmel, Indiana. Northwest Radiology’s 18 radiologists will continue to provide professional services under contract at the sites following the deal.
Founded in 1967, Northwest Radiology is a physician-led practice with a long-standing presence in central Indiana. The group will maintain its existing relationships with referring physicians, according to RadNet, and clinical operations at the centers are expected to continue without interruption.

Steve Forthuber, president and CEO of Eastern Operations at RadNet, said the acquisition establishes a platform for future growth in the region and allows RadNet to introduce its operational and technology infrastructure into the Indianapolis market. He emphasized collaboration with the existing radiology team as the company integrates the centers.
Northwest Radiology CEO Brian Jellison said the transaction allows the practice to remain physician-led while gaining access to additional resources. “While our physician-led model and local relationships will remain unchanged, we will now have access to cutting-edge AI technologies and resources that will enable us to deliver better care for our patients,” Jellison said.
RadNet projects the acquisition will contribute approximately $18 million in annualized revenue. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The deal expands RadNet’s geographic footprint beyond its established markets, which include California, New York, New Jersey, Texas and Florida. The company operates a national network of outpatient imaging centers and also offers radiology IT, artificial intelligence tools under its DeepHealth brand, and teleradiology services.
Northwest Radiology offers a range of diagnostic and screening services, including MRI, CT, PET/CT, mammography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology and diagnostic X-ray, primarily serving patients across the Indianapolis metropolitan area.
