Siemens Healthineers has named Sourabh Pagaria president of its global ultrasound business, effective April 1, 2025.

He takes over from Ajay Gannerkote and will be based in the company's Palo Alto, California-office as it looks to expand its presence in diagnostic imaging.

Pagaria has been with the company since 2011 and previously served as executive vice president and head of Southern Europe, where he oversaw operations across Italy, Spain, Greece, and Portugal. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving strategic direction across the ultrasound segment.

“It is a privilege to take on leadership of Siemens Healthineers global ultrasound business as we embark on our next phase of growth," said Pagaria in a statement. "Today, Siemens Healthineers Ultrasound is composed of an industry-leading interventional business, together with our innovative diagnostic business, which positions us well as ultrasound use continues to grow and expand globally.”

Jocelyne Mekontso
In a related move, Jocelyne Mekontso has been appointed head of the company’s diagnostic ultrasound franchise. She will lead the business from Siemens Healthineers’ U.S. ultrasound headquarters in Issaquah, Washington, with oversight of product portfolios and market development initiatives.

Mekontso brings more than 20 years of experience in the medical device sector, including roles spanning research and development, product management, and commercial leadership. She most recently held the position of vice president and general manager of general imaging ultrasound at Philips, before that she spent nearly two decades at GE HealthCare, where she began as an ultrasound software engineer and grew to take on leadership roles across the business and on four continents.

The leadership changes come as Siemens Healthineers continues to invest in ultrasound technology as part of its broader imaging portfolio. Both Pagaria and Mekontso are expected to play key roles in shaping the business's direction amid ongoing shifts in healthcare access and digital transformation.

In March, the company announced that John Kowal, formerly president of the Americas for Varian, had been appointed president and head of the Americas for Siemens Healthineers, succeeding David Pacitti, who has accepted the role of CEO for Avanos.
