Geisinger is expanding its specialty care offerings in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, with a new $32 million cancer center set to open in 2026.

The two-story, 40,000-square-foot facility will include 12 exam rooms, 15 infusion stations, and external beam radiation, as well as an outpatient clinic for medical oncology, hematology, and radiation oncology. It will also house Geisinger’s first palliative care clinic in Union County. The site has been designed with space for future service expansion.

Geisinger officials say the center will help meet the growing demand for cancer care as diagnoses increase and patients seek treatment earlier in life. The facility’s location will also allow for seamless referrals to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for more advanced treatment options.

“There’s a clear benefit to receiving care close to home — especially specialized treatment like cancer services,” said Megan Brosious, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Geisinger.

The project is part of Geisinger’s broader effort to enhance specialty care across central Pennsylvania, including expansions at Geisinger Medical Center and other regional investments.

“Growing our presence in Union County is another step toward making sure our patients never have to leave the region for outstanding cancer care,” said Dr. Rajiv Panikkar, chair of the Geisinger Cancer Institute.
