Philips has introduced the IntelliVue Patient Monitor 6000 Series, a patient monitoring platform aimed at rural hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and other healthcare organizations seeking lower-cost access to enterprise monitoring capabilities.

The company said the new series is designed to support facilities facing budget constraints, staffing shortages and increasing patient acuity while preparing for broader connectivity and digital integration.

The IntelliVue Patient Monitor 6000 Series includes three monitor models with core measurements built into the devices. Organizations can deploy the monitors as stand-alone systems, connect them directly to electronic medical records through HL7 outbound connectivity, or integrate them into the broader Philips patient monitoring ecosystem.

Philips said the monitors use the same IntelliVue software platform as its IntelliVue MX monitor line, allowing consistency across workflows, clinical decision-support tools and cybersecurity features. Facilities already using MX monitors can also share certain supplies between the two product lines.

The company is also introducing two new technologies with the 6000 Series.

The IntelliVue Measurement Rack 6000 allows clinicians to add monitoring capabilities through IntelliVue modules beyond the parameters built into the monitor. Philips said the approach enables organizations to adapt devices for different care settings and patient needs without replacing equipment.

In addition, the monitors are the first Philips devices to include Flexible Link technology. Each monitor includes two connectors that support plug-and-play expansion through a new generation of measurement modules. The company said the design allows capabilities to be added after purchase and supports movement of compatible modules between monitors.

According to Philips, the monitors feature a one-piece design and standardized configurations intended to simplify deployment, training and maintenance while supporting cleaning and infection-control efforts.
