AirStrip Technologies, a provider of mobile remote monitoring solutions, has appointed GE HealthCare to be the exclusive distributor of its AirStrip Cardiology and Patient Monitoring mobile applications, which create visual displays of data that providers can access from anywhere on mobile devices and the web.

AirStrip vendor and data source-agnostic, enterprisewide mobile interoperability platform AirStrip ONE can be used by healthcare providers to securely access and view patient data, including vital signs, medical records, and other relevant information, and communicate their findings with one another.

Designed for one-touch access, AirStrip ONE enables clinicians to view cardiac rhythm strips and 12-lead ECGs in multiple patients simultaneously, receive STEMI notifications, communicate with care teams, and more, within the proprietary native application. Currently, the technology is used by more than 600 healthcare systems in the U.S.

The agreement pairs it with GE HealthCare’s ECG, cardiac output, and patient monitoring products, and allows providers with AirStrip technology to consult GE HealthCare’s Outcomes Delivery Team about how to effectively set up performance benchmarks and evaluate results during the purchasing process.

AirStrip One enables clinicians to prioritize and assess multiple patient cases on one screen. With it, providers can edit and confirm an initial machine-generated ECG interpretation. It also facilitates data exchange between AirStrip One and the GE MUSE ECG Management System, enabling seamless information flow between different healthcare systems and devices. Additionally, it can capture ECG strips, utilize calipers, add notes, and transmit the strips to the EMR and other clinicians.

AirStrip and GE HealthCare say selling their products as an integrated tool set will improve clinical staff productivity, collaboration, and communication. According to Catherine Estrampes, president and CEO, U.S. and Canada, GE HealthCare, real-time and remote patient monitoring helps reduce burnout and alleviates clinician shortages, issues that providers worldwide have particularly struggled to overcome over the last few years.
