Cleveland Clinic has detailed next steps in its expansion in Palm Beach County, with site demolition and preparation scheduled for 2026 and the opening of a new outpatient center and ambulatory surgery center planned for 2027.
A 200-bed hospital in West Palm Beach is expected to open by the end of 2029.
The project is part of a broader capital campaign that has raised more than $180 million to date, according to the health system. The Cleveland-based nonprofit said the new hospital is intended to increase emergency care capacity and expand access to specialty services in a county that continues to see population growth.

“This milestone reflects the power of partnership,” said CEO and President Tom Mihaljevic, M.D., holder of the Morton L. Mandel CEO Chair at Cleveland Clinic. “Cleveland Clinic is proud to coinvest alongside the Palm Beach County community to elevate healthcare in the region. Our vision is to build the hospital of the future — a technologically advanced academic medical center that is part of the larger Cleveland Clinic health system.”
The hospital will include 200 inpatient beds and is designed to integrate with Cleveland Clinic’s broader network of specialty and research services.
“The ability to deliver exceptional emergency care and complex outpatient and inpatient care close to where people live and work can be life-changing,” said Conor Delaney, M.D., president of Cleveland Clinic Florida Market. “This hospital represents a long-term investment in the health and safety of Palm Beach County.”
Separately, philanthropists Eric and Lois Zorn contributed $3 million to establish the Eric and Lois Zorn Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine. The chair honors Jerry Estep, M.D., division chair of cardiovascular medicine for Cleveland Clinic Florida.
The system’s new outpatient and ambulatory surgery center at 15 CityPlace is scheduled to open in November 2027 and will be significantly larger than its current health center in the area. Fundraising efforts are ongoing as planning and development continue.
