McLaren Health Care, a Grand Blanc, Michigan-based health system with 13 hospitals and an expansive care network, has acquired Park Medical Centers, a group of primary care clinics serving Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.

The acquisition adds 10 clinics with 21 providers who care for approximately 36,000 patients to McLaren's network.

Park Medical Centers will operate as a division of McLaren Medical Group (MMG), McLaren’s employed provider organization. The clinics will retain their branding and existing staff, who will transition to employment under MMG.

“Park Medical Centers has rightly earned a reputation as a provider of quality family care established over its considerable history,” said Philip A. Incarnati, president and CEO of McLaren Health Care. “While this enhances McLaren’s presence in southeast Michigan, our intention is for Park Medical Centers to continue its distinction as a reliable, community-based provider to those who have, for years, trusted in their care, expertise, and guidance.”

Founded more than 60 years ago by Dr. Richard Brown, Park Medical Centers has been a long-standing provider of primary care in Metro Detroit. Dr. Brown will remain president and chief medical officer, while Jeffrey Brown, the group’s CEO for the past 15 years, will continue to oversee its operations and growth.

“Park Medical Centers has always been dedicated to delivering outstanding, patient-focused care, and this partnership with McLaren Health Care enables us to advance that mission,” Jeffrey Brown said. “With McLaren’s extensive resources, we aim to enhance services for current patients while expanding our reach by welcoming more providers and practices into the network.”

McLaren plans to assess the operational and clinical needs of the newly acquired clinics, integrating additional services to support patients.
