MARGARETVILLE, N.Y. (August 19, 2024) – Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) announced that Michael Hochman has been promoted to Executive Director of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville, N.Y.

Hochman, a resident of Olive, N.Y., brings a deep understanding of Delaware County and the Central Catskill area to his new role. He is eager to serve the workforce and community and looks forward to being readily accessible as he begins his full-time position on the Margaretville campus.

Hochman has earned a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration, holds numerous Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Certificates and recently achieved Det Norske Veritas’ (DNV) Certified Healthcare Operations Professional designation. DNV is an approved hospital accreditation organization through the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).

“Invigorated leadership and a constant presence, both onsite and in the communities we serve, are essential for Margaretville to provide the highest quality care to our patients,” said Josh Ratner, CEO, HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley. “Michael brings extensive experience to his new WMCHealth role, and I am confident in his ability to guide Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center into the future.”

Hochman previously served as WMCHealth’s Regional Director of Facilities, overseeing engineering, maintenance, and construction for WMCHealth’s HealthAlliance Hospital Margaretville Memorial Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center. His responsibilities included developing fiscal budgets and long-term capital plans, as well as coordinating to secure state grants. During his tenure, Hochman’s expertise in regulatory compliance and survey accreditation proved to be valuable, with Mountainside Residential Care Center successfully completing its annual survey in July earning high marks.

Additionally, Hochman is vice president of the Olive Fire Department, where he has volunteered as a firefighter for about 10 years. He also coaches his children's baseball and soccer teams. In his free time, Hochman enjoys reading, skiing, and golfing.
