Milwaukee — Austin Reeder has been selected to serve as the next president of Froedtert Hospital. He will assume his role at eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center Monday, Feb. 10.
Austin currently serves as system vice president and chief operating officer for Ochsner Medical Center, the flagship academic medical center in New Orleans. Since joining Ochsner Health in 2017, he rapidly progressed through leadership positions, having served first as chief executive officer, Ochsner Medical Center-St. Charles Parish Hospital, before assuming the role of vice president of Hospital Operations and Patient Throughput at Ochsner Medical Center-New Orleans. Prior to his time at Ochsner Health, Austin worked in a variety of successive roles at East Jefferson General Hospital, Metairie, La., eventually assuming the role of vice president, Service Lines and Operations.

Austin holds a Master of Health Administration and Master of Public Health, Epidemiology, from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, New Orleans. An Alabama native, Austin earned a Bachelor of Science, Microbiology, from the state’s Auburn University. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
