Siemens Healthineers will be undergoing some changes at the top of its North America customer services unit, as Michael Wendt makes plans to step down after almost 6 years as head of the division. As of February 1, Gonçalo Arnaut, currently the head of customer services for the company's Asia Pacific region, will assume the role.
Based in North Carolina, Wendt has been with Siemens for over 23 years. He joined the company as head of MRI collaborations in 2000, where he worked with academic partners and customers to advance MR imaging.
Wendt is also a board member of MITA (Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance), a division of NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) and member of the MITA executive committee. From 2021 through 2022 he was MITA board chairman.
Arnaut, Wendt's successor as head of customer services in North America, has been with Siemens for 20 years. Before becoming head of Asia Pacific customer services, he held leadership positions in Singapore, Brazil, Chile and Portugal.
