Baylor Scott & White Health will become one of Texas’ largest urgent care providers through a new partnership with NextCare Urgent Care that will add 41 new clinics to its network across the state.
NextCare is one of the largest providers of urgent, virtual, and occupational health services in the U.S. with over 170 clinics in 12 states. It provides X-ray exams, antibody testing, physicals, pediatric care, lab testing, and immunizations and vaccines.
Its sites in Houston, San Antonio and Abilene will introduce Baylor Scott & White Health into new markets, according to CEO Pete McCanna
"Through this venture, the NextCare sites across the state will be integrated into our ecosystem of offerings, which already includes 24/7 virtual care available to all Texans via MyBSWHealth.com,” he said in a statement.
Baylor Scott & White Health is the largest not-for-profit healthcare provider in Texas with 51 hospitals and more than 1,200 access points, including flagship academic medical centers in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Temple, that serve over three million Texans.
The healthcare system also announced in January that it will
build a new $265 million hospital in North Frisco to accommodate the growing population there. It already has multiple facilities in Frisco, including a sports medicine facility at The Star, a medical center, and another on Lebanon Road.
It recently
sold six micro-hospitals in September in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to Rethink Healthcare Real Estate and global real estate management firm Heitman for $58.9 million.
Baylor Scott & White Health and NextCare will discuss branding, digital integration, and other innovations over the next few months.
When questioned about the deal, Baylor Scott & White Health referred HCB News to its press release.
