Fujifilm is opening a new business division for systems integration
Fujifilm is launching a new business division dedicated to systems integration.

Operating under Fujifilm Corporation medical systems and endoscopy division, the Systems Integration business will focus on image and data integration within the operating room and interventional suites, and support providers as they integrate their imaging solutions. The launch will be initiated in the U.S. market.

“An entire business segment is essential because our systems integration business unit will spread across all of the other Fujifilm medical business units, connecting endoscopy, surgical, modality, and medical informatics,” Devon Bream, MPH, FACHE, global vice president of endoscopy and general manager, systems integration for the medical systems business division at Fujifilm Corporation, told HCB News. “The United States is the largest established systems integration market globally, with an estimated $1 billion annual market. The global market is an estimated $1.8 billion, therefore the U.S. represents over half of the global market.”

In addition to facilitating image and data integration, the business will act as a connector between the company’s medical image capture products and Synapse Enterprise Imaging portfolio for image storage, management, viewing and analytics technologies.

Leading the segment will be Keiichi Nagata, president of Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. – Endoscopy. Bream, who holds more than 25 years in systems integration, sales and marketing, will serve as global vice president and general manager. Other members will include Tony Hermes as global director of sales, Joe Lamkin as global director of business development, and Carly Panchura, MPH, as global director of marketing.

The target audience of the division is expected to be general ORs, hybrid ORs, and all interventional specialties, including gastrointestinal.

“With systems integration, our Fujifilm customers will better be able to connect their endoscopy, surgical, modality, and medical informatics because we will be able to offer a single vendor solution,” said Bream. “With that said, our architecture is open and vendor-neutral, which will allow providers to utilize their existing and legacy solutions as they add in new solutions.”

Fujifilm’s systems integration business is expected to officially launch in the first quarter of 2020. Expansion plans include a launch in Europe in 2021 and in Asia Pacific either in 2022 or sooner, depending on opportunities.
