Doctor Perry J. Pickhardt and Dr. David H. Kim founded VirtuoCTC, L.L.C. with the mission to provide successful implementation of CT Colonography (CTC) practices.

VirtuoCTC will provide a program of hands-on training courses and templates supported by a comprehensive teaching file and clinical database program derived from a proven, successful clinical model. Both founders have previously held CME accredited CTC training courses.

As the premier product, VirtuoCTC offers a teaching file of more than 50 proven cases which are available in either DICOM or Viatronix V3D-Colon specific formats. The files cover instances of diverse colorectal screenings and are accompanied by an answer book with associated CTC and optical colonoscopy findings.

The firm also offers a clinical CTC database program with information on clinical results and patient follow-up.

Templates for physician use include bowel prep instructions, CT protocols and a CTC dictation template for facilitating a clinical CTC program.

"CTC interpretation need not be an arduous task," explains Pickhardt. "In fact, using our approach we have found that CTC screening is by far the most rewarding and enjoyable part of our clinical practice."

Kim said, "There are few instances in radiology where you feel that you have made a major difference in a person's life - CTC screening is one of them. When you find a large but silent polyp that is subsequently removed in an otherwise healthy individual, you know that a future cancer may have been stopped."
