A South Carolina center
chose Hitachi OASIS for image
quality, not just the open
configuration of the MRI
Those living in the Southeast can now have imaging testing on the Hitachi OASIS MR imaging system as the Imaging Center at Baxter Village in Fort Mill, SC became the first location in the area to offer what many consider to be the most advanced patient-friendly diagnostic imaging technique currently available.
"The Imaging Center at Baxter Village has been designed around the patient," said Dr. Geoffrey Gilleland, Rock Hill Radiology Associates. "With that in mind, we chose the Hitachi OASIS because of its open architecture and strength. Patient satisfaction from a truly open MRI design has obvious value, but to choose a magnet simply because it is 'open' would be a disservice if the magnet could not perform to the highest industry standards. The multichannel coils and gradient performance of the OASIS made our decision easy."
The OASIS delivers patient comfort while providing high-field image quality and today's advanced clinical capabilities. Its ultra-wide asymmetric table alignment ensures the unobstructed patient view for all examinations. The patient can always see out and all around, all the time, instead of staring at the inside of a tube.

"We're impressed with the capabilities of the OASIS," said Charlie Miller, Piedmont Medical Center President and CEO. "At The Imaging Center at Baxter Village, each impression we make to our patients must be one of quality combined with comfort and convenience. The OASIS delivers the solution we have been looking for. As imaging technology advances, our single most important mission is to provide our patients with the best medical care we can offer. And by offering the high-field open MRI, we meet that responsibility to our community."
The Imaging Center of Baxter Village is a new full-service center, which opened Oct. 1, 2008. In addition to MRI, it also offers 32-slice CT, Digital X-ray and Ultrasound.
