Konica Minolta Healthcare introduced several updates to its digital radiography and enterprise imaging offerings at RSNA in Chicago, including new floor-mounted DR systems, expanded software tools, and a strategic cardiology IT partnership.

The Wayne, New Jersey-based company debuted the KDR FMT and KDR FMT+ systems, designed to expand its digital radiography portfolio. The KDR FMT is a fully manual, floor-mounted X-ray system aimed at low- to mid-volume practices, while the KDR FMT+ includes motorized movement and automated detector tracking for higher-throughput environments.

Both systems feature a tube-mounted control interface and accommodate patients in standing, seated, or table positions. Each system includes Konica Minolta’s ULTRA imaging software with REALISM image processing for enhanced contrast and sharpness.

Konica Minolta also unveiled a new partnership with Springfield, Illinois-based ASCEND Cardiovascular to integrate ASCEND’s specialty cardiology workflow tools into the Exa Enterprise platform. The collaboration aims to provide a unified imaging environment tailored to the complex needs of cardiovascular departments.

“For too long, cardiology has been treated as an afterthought in broader enterprise imaging strategies,” said Dr. Jeffrey Soble, CEO of ASCEND Cardiovascular. “Our solution creates a microcosm within the broader imaging ecosystem that is tailored to the unique needs of cardiovascular care.”

The company also announced that its Bone Suppression Imaging (BSI) technology is now in use across all 23 locations of Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology, a Long Island-based outpatient imaging group. BSI digitally removes ribs and clavicles from chest radiographs, improving the visualization of pulmonary structures and helping detect subtle abnormalities earlier.

“Bone Suppression has proved to be a valuable tool for our practice,” said Dr. Steven Mendelsohn, CEO of Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology. “There is undoubtedly increased confidence and conspicuity of our pulmonary evaluations.”
