Royal Philips has received FDA clearance for the latest version of its Cardiovascular Workspace platform, known as IntelliSpace Cardiovascular (ISCV).

The updated platform includes cloud-based deployment through Philips HealthSuite, expanding its availability as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering.

The move to a cloud infrastructure is intended to support health systems looking to adopt AI-based tools, while also simplifying IT management and reducing operational costs. The new deployment model integrates into Philips’ broader diagnostic imaging portfolio, aiming to make cardiovascular reading and reporting more accessible and scalable.

“With cloud deployment, we are enabling secure remote reading and improving efficiency,” said Madhuri Sebastian, business leader of imaging informatics at Philips. “Our approach is a true differentiator because it unlocks the ability to scale and innovate through large data sets.”

The platform offers secure remote access to cardiovascular data and imaging, supporting clinicians in reading and reporting from any location. Philips says the updated system also lays the groundwork for more advanced AI tools by enabling broader access to structured data sets across health systems.

Dr. Tom C. Nguyen, chief medical executive at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, said health systems are “accelerating AI integration in clinical workflows, focusing on automated imaging analysis, predictive risk modeling and workflow optimization.”

The new release extends Philips’ existing collaboration with Amazon Web Services, where it is hosted as part of the HealthSuite ecosystem. Dr. Rowland Illing, chief medical officer at AWS, said the integration is helping to “unlock the power of data through secure, cloud-enabled solutions across the entire care continuum.”

Philips is scheduled to showcase the new platform at the RSNA 2025 Annual Meeting in Chicago.
