Philips has introduced new AI-powered workflow and measurement features for its EPIQ Elite and Affiniti ultrasound systems, aiming to speed up exams and improve diagnostic confidence.

With over 100 new image quality presets across multiple specialties, the Elevate software update streamlines workflows while maintaining cybersecurity protections. Philips' Collaboration Live also enables remote consultations and system troubleshooting.

“We worked with leading imaging professionals to enhance every single step in the ultrasound exam, from patient set-up to image acquisition and quantitative measurement, and leveraged the power of AI to bring the most significant advancements in the high-end ultrasound segment in over a decade,” said Bita Alu, business leader for general imaging, point of care, and women’s health at Philips Ultrasound.
The update introduces Quick Launch presets, reducing abdominal imaging setup times by up to 50%. AI-powered tools now optimize image brightness and uniformity while minimizing manual adjustments. CEUS AutoScan adapts gain settings in real time for improved image clarity.

Liver elastography automation with AutoElastQ cuts exam times by up to 60%. For cardiac imaging, AutoStrain automatically selects optimal images for left ventricular function assessment, while an AI-based segmental wall motion scoring tool in the Affiniti system helps reduce variability in evaluating cardiac disease progression.

Philips has also partnered with Koios Medical to integrate AI-driven decision support for breast and thyroid nodule analysis.

The company will showcase the updates at ECR 2025.
