Yale New Haven Health System appoints chief information officer
November 07, 2024
Glynn Stanton
Glynn Stanton has been named Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Yale New Haven Health System, Yale Medicine, and Yale Health. In addition to his new responsibilities, Stanton will continue in his role as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the health system.

Since joining the health system more than a decade ago, Stanton has significantly evolved the information security office and capabilities, growing the team of experts and enhancing functions such as identity and access management and disaster recovery. He also is a national authority in cybersecurity and has worked with the American Hospital Association and its advocacy efforts to help lower the cost of security tools for hospitals across the United States. Additionally, and importantly, Stanton has worked to align the system’s security policies and practices to improve collaboration with Yale University. For the last few years, Stanton also has overseen our information technology infrastructure, end-user computing and service desk, helping to spearhead the implementation of "tap and go" technologies that balance functionality and security for our physicians and employees.

As CIO and CISO, Stanton will have principal responsibility for the technical operations of Digital Technology Solutions, including infrastructure and a unified data ecosystem, as well as the security of the organization's information assets. Stanton will work side-by-side with Lee Schwamm, MD, Senior Vice President, Chief Digital Health Officer, and Associate Dean, to drive digital transformation initiatives for clinicians, employees, and patients, ensuring our comprehensive IT strategy fully supports the enterprise’s strategic goals and growth initiatives. This includes evaluation and adoption of important emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).
