Caesarea, Israel - Oct. 3, 2024 - Arineta, a leader in advancing cardiovascular imaging solutions through cutting-edge technology, announces the installation of its SpotLight™ Duo cardiac CT scanner at Lehigh Valley Health Network’s (LVHN) cardiac diagnostic center in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania. This installation through Lehigh Valley Imaging makes the SpotLight Duo the only dedicated cardiac scanner in LVHN’s network of 13 hospitals and multiple outpatient centers.
With LVHN’s recent merger with Jefferson Health, the Gilbertsville cardiac diagnostic center is set to become a key resource for local cardiac patients. Previously, patients from these underserved communities had to travel to larger cities for advanced imaging. Now, with the SpotLight Duo, LVHN can provide high-quality cardiac imaging locally, improving access to care and increasing health equity in the region.
Having a dedicated cardiac CT scanner frees up resources for LVHN’s radiology department, making it easier to handle urgent cardiac scans without delaying cases from other specialties. The installation also enables LVHN to improve its planning for coronary procedures, including TAVR, vascular assessments, electrophysiology procedures, calcium scoring, peripheral interventions, and planning for additional cardiac procedures.

“It’s our goal to offer our cardiac patients complete care with the right talent, resources, and technology,” said Kunal D. Patel, MD, Clinical Cardiologist at Lehigh Valley Heart & Vascular Institute. “With the SpotLight Duo, we now have technology only previously available at large metropolitan hospitals and research institutions. We can provide patients with the advanced care they need from their local community hospital.”
The single beat, whole heart scanner is optimized with 140 mm coverage at a rotation speed of 0.24 sec per rotation. Its deep-learning imaging reconstruction (DLIR) powered by artificial intelligence, allows Arineta to provide enhanced image quality and image noise reduction, resulting in improved image quality by delivering clearer, more accurate cross-sectional images.
“It was eye-opening to see the difference in quality with the Arineta SpotLight Duo,” said James A. Newcomb, MD, LVHN Department of Radiology & Diagnostic Medical Imaging’s Vice Chairman. “This technology provides more accurate imaging and diagnostics for patients with conditions that make their hearts more challenging to image, whether due to variability or other factors.”
