Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation has introduced FCT iStream, an FDA-cleared 128-slice CT system.
The compact system is designed for hospital and outpatient settings, and incorporates four key Fujifilm technologies: HiMAR Plus, Intelli IPV, SynergyDrive, and IntelliODM. These innovations collectively enhance image sharpness, automate workflow processes through AI, and significantly lower patient dose.
Notably, the IntelliODM feature employs organ-based dose modulation, adjusting radiation dose based on patient attenuation to minimize exposure. Additionally, IntelliEC technology further reduces dose across various scans, including cardiac imaging. The Intelli IPV method, which utilizes iterative progressive reconstruction with visual modeling, cuts noise by up to 90% and reduces patient dose by up to 83%.

For technologists, the system captures 60 images per second and utilizes SynergyDrive technology to automate and simplify the scanning process. This includes automating patient positioning, mapping imaging parameters, and archiving images efficiently, addressing common workflow challenges in high-volume radiology departments.
The system also addresses issues related to imaging patients with metal implants, which can distort CT images. The HiMAR Plus technology combines projection-based and image-based corrections to detect and rectify corrupted data caused by metal, resulting in clear, high-quality images.
