Ondal Medical Systems, a provider of ceiling-mounted suspension systems for medical equipment, has acquired the assets of CV Medical, bringing the smaller company out of bankruptcy.

Founded in 2006 in Oregon, CV Medical is the inventor of the NuBOOM and NuBOOM Mobile, all-in-one equipment management, visualization, and ergonomic boom systems for carrying and positioning exam lights, surgical lights, medical displays, lead shields, and surgical navigation cameras in operating rooms.

The company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in May 2023.

“Their floor-mounted and mobile products will complement our ceiling-mounted offerings, providing customers a comprehensive portfolio of medical equipment carrying solutions,” said Chris Walters, president of Ondal USA, in a statement.

The installation of NuBOOM bypasses the usual demolition and reinforcement process for ceilings, a prerequisite for hanging monitor and equipment booms, allowing it to be completed in two days. NuBOOM Mobile is equipped with wheels and can move equipment to multiple operating rooms in a facility for use in different types of minimally invasive procedures.

Headquartered in Germany, Ondal manufactures ceiling supply units for devices used in surgery, endoscopy, anesthesia, intensive care units, diagnostics, and other operations. The company will integrate CV Medical into its U.S. operations in Richmond, Virginia over the next few months and relaunch its products this summer, starting with the NuBoom Mobile.
