Solis Mammography will manage breast imaging services for MountainStar Health in Utah.
To improve mammography compliance in Utah, MountainStar Healthcare, a division of HCA Healthcare, has appointed Solis Mammography, the largest independent service provider of specialized breast health services in the U.S., to oversee breast imaging services across its locations.
Based in Addison, Texas, Solis Mammography runs over 120 centers in 15 major markets, including wholly-owned centers and multiple joint venture partnerships with large hospital systems and medical and academic institutions. Most recently, it added three breast imaging centers through its
acquisition of Caroline Breast Imaging in North Carolina.
MountainStar schedules 37 million patient visits annually at its eight hospitals, which include St. Mark’s Hospital, Ogden Regional Medical Center, Timpanogos Regional Hospital, Lakeview Hospital, Mountain View Hospital, Lone Peak Hospital, Brigham City Community Hospital, and Cache Valley Hospital.
Solis Mammography will initially manage breast imaging services at its Orem, Bountiful, Ogden, and Salt Lake City locations, and expand to other sites over the next few months to increase awareness and easy accessibility to mammography care for women in Utah.
“Solis Mammography has been a trailblazer in the field of breast imaging for nearly 40 years. Their centers offer women a comforting, patient-focused environment to receive these important, lifesaving tests,” said Rebecca Hunter, MountainStar’s vice president of strategy for women’s health, in a statement.
Over the last few months, Solis Mammography has also set up partnerships
with St. David’s HealthCare in Central Texas and
Jefferson Health in the Greater Philadelphia area. It describes its delivery of care as a boutique-style retail healthcare experience.
The first screening and diagnostic breast imaging center under it for MountainStar will open on January 22 at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem.
In addition to diagnostic and screening mammograms, Solis Mammography offers bone density, breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound services and can perform dual mammograms and heart disease screenings in one exam with its Mammo+Heart AI screening software. It also has a service, Mammo+Plus, which uses AI to compare breast images to tens of thousands of scans in a database to determine a woman’s elevated risk of being diagnosed with cancer in the next 12 months.
