Artec Group Services is a small company (with a staff of 10) selling new, used and refurbished medical equipment out of its main office in Miami, Florida. That sun city headquarters, however, is only part of a worldwide reach that includes regional offices in Argentina and Spain, as well as sales reps throughout Europe.


Artec markets to North America, South America, Western Europe, Eastern Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania.

A DOTmed user since 2002 and repeat DOTmed 100 company, Artec buys and sells all types of hospital and medical equipment, new, remanufactured and used, including all the major OEM brands.

With around $1 million in annual sales, Artec has done well moving everything from anesthesia machines to treadmills and vaporizers.

"What sets us apart is our honesty, dedication and service," says Patrice Michel, a company spokesperson. "Although Artec has been in business since 2001, Frank Bleischmidt, our owner/manager has about 30 years of experience in the medical industry."

Artec's clients are mostly dealers and some end-users, with about 95 percent international. "Most of our clients are overseas," Michel says, "but we do deal with some resellers domestically."

One trend Artec is seeing is the great demand for quality refurbished product. "However," Michel adds, "in some countries, there has been a slight shift towards the Asian products due to their low price."

Most of Artec's inventory comes from hospitals in the United States and its Miami warehouse is stocked with monitors, cath labs, surgical tables, ultra sound machines, anesthesia monitors, sterilizers and more.

The company has grown ten-fold since 2001 and expects a good year in 2008.
