Mindray North America has started a refurbishment program for patient monitors, anesthesia machines and ultrasound systems.
“As the healthcare industry continues its shift to value-based care, facilities around the world are seeking new and improved ways to enhance patient care and manage costs without sacrificing quality. And with the increased pressure being put on healthcare systems due to the pandemic, Mindray’s role in the industry’s transformation has never been clearer — bringing customers cost-effective solutions that align with their financial objectives,” said Wayne Quinn, president of Mindray North America, in a statement.
The company’s inReach Product Refurbishment Program is designed to provide clinicians, who are limited budget-wise, with access to high-quality Mindray products at affordable pricing. Each product is certified through a 12-point comprehensive refurbishment process by trained technicians to ensure they meet Mindray’s standards. The steps of this process are:
- Clean and disinfect outside surfaces of device
- Clean inside for dust or debris
- Complete inspection and replacement of any interior missing or damaged components
- Inspect product labeling for legibility, color, and uniformity and replace as required
- Inspect display; replace if any area is unreadable or if display is damaged
- Clean and pack into factory-specified packaging
- Recondition any other visible surface damage
- Complete removal of any patient data and clearing of electronic memory
- Upgrade software to latest version
- Set and test device to factory specifications
- Replace outside housing that has blemishes larger than ¼ inch, including cracks, holes, and color nonuniformity
- Replace all original specified accessories
Mindray North America recently
launched a new point-of-care ultrasound system in October, its ME8 Ultrasound System. The solution is one of the lightest and thinnest laptop-based machines in the industry, according to the company, and contains advanced software and hardware designed to maximize performance in all applications.
It also
scored a supplier contract for its Resona 7 Ultrasound System in November for the ultrasound category of Vizient’s Pediatric Program. The solution can now be offered at contracted pricing through the program, is equipped with ZONE Sonography Technology+ to acquire 90 percent more ultrasound data, and is 10 times faster than conventional systems.
Mindray North America did not respond for comment.
