Sonosite PX offers advanced image clarity, a new family of transducers and an adaptable work surface.
Fujifilm Sonosite, a specialist in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) within the Fujifilm Healthcare portfolio, has unveiled its latest point-of-care ultrasound system, Sonosite PX.
Equipped with new proprietary imaging technology, the solution provides users with advanced image clarity, along with a new family of transducers and an adaptable work surface.
"The superior visualization capabilities of our Sonosite PX systems are aided by a new family of transducers, proprietary speckle reduction technology, and improved color performance," Dr. Diku Mandavia, senior vice president and chief medical officer of FUJIFILM Sonosite and FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., told HCB News. "Additionally, the Sonosite PX systems are designed for physicians to get closer at the point of care. With adaptable horizontal and vertical positioning, clinicians are able to seamlessly adjust the POCUS system for optimal bedside ergonomics and bring it closer to the bedside."

Sonosite PX and its new family of transducers are drop-tested to one meter. A specialized stand provides the system with its adaptable work surface position, while a small footprint and adjustable height allows for closer access to bedsides. The work surface is sealed to the edge to simplify cleaning and disinfection processes. Information that is necessary for finishing an exam, such as patient data, reports, and worksheets, is intuitively placed in one location to save clinicians time and effort when navigating the user interface, which is simplified to show the most used controls, calculations and annotations.
The solution offers two cardiac options that allow clinicians to opt between gathering targeted information about the heart to determine a patient’s overall well-being, or assess specific conditions with more comprehensive calculations that provide detailed analysis of the structure and function of the heart. This enables them to choose the cardiac exam type that best fits their unique workflow needs and effectively assess cardiac function with optimal frame rate. In addition, it can better visualize sonographic landmarks when accuracy is crucial during complex procedures and shows anatomic details accurately in small joins to better pinpoint sources of inflammation.
Sonosite PX is the first device to be fully integrated with Sonosite Synchronicity solution, a workflow manager for POCUS that enables seamless credentialing, quality assurance and billing across departments and institutions. With it, Sonosite PX can facilitate onboard documentation of ultrasound findings at the bedside.
Another add-on is the expansion of its 3D animation education videos to include 140 onboard scan-along tutorials. This is the most expansive library in any point-of-care system, according to Fujifilm Sonosite.
"Clinicians are increasingly expanding their use of the technology due to POCUS' ability to improve diagnostic accuracy, improve patient safety, reduce the time taken to reach diagnosis, and care for any patient, anywhere," said Mandavia. "The move to value-based care will drive more 'ultrasound first' care pathways as health systems look to decrease cost, improve safety and quality, as well as the patient experience. These new adopters to point of care ultrasound will require training and the Sonosite PX has nearly 150 embedded educational videos covering a host of applications from basic to advanced."
