Agiliti acquires Zetta Medical
Technologies
Healthcare technology management company Agiliti has acquired Zetta Medical Technologies, a provider of services and parts for medical imaging equipment.

Obtaining the Illinois-based company will extend the services offered by Agiliti for high-end imaging devices.

"Zetta brings to Agiliti a full complement of medical imaging device management and maintenance capabilities, and decades of experience across a broad range of equipment makes and models," Tom Leonard, CEO of Agiliti, told HCB News. "Their full-service approach is a perfect fit within our broader clinical engineering offering to customers — building on our platform of supplemental and outsourced biomedical repair and maintenance services to include comprehensive support for high-end medical imaging technologies (CT, MR and PET/CT), and the scale to deliver those services nationally."

The sale opens access for Zetta to Agiliti's 7,000 healthcare facility partners across the U.S. through the company's network of 86 local market service centers and five repair and maintenance Centers of Excellence. Agiliti also provides a platform for accelerated growth and investment in the form of its 24/7 service model, nationwide infrastructure and a team of more than 3,000 equipment management experts, which includes over 400 biomedical engineers and technicians.

In addition to multi-vendor clinical engineering services, Zetta offers experience in supplying parts and pre-owned equipment for CT, MR and PET/CT modalities and connections through its role as a national service provider for GE, Siemens and Philips. Other assets it holds include on-demand technical support, maintenance and remote monitoring services through a network of OEM-trained engineers, and like Agiliti, certifications to ISO 13485:2016, which is the only ISO quality standard specific to medical devices and is based on evaluating risks to patient safety throughout the device life cycle.

One significant benefit expected from the transaction is the advancement in Agiliti's clinical engineering services within its Equipment Value Management (EVM) solution, which aims to help providers reduce excess capital and operating costs, improve delivery of care, and ensure regulatory compliance for the management, maintenance and repair of medical devices.

"Within EVM, our clinical engineering programs have been shown to help provider facilities reduce the overall costs of servicing their equipment by 10-20 percent on average," said Leonard. "With the addition of Zetta, we further enhance our capabilities to service a broad range of high-end imaging equipment and deliver a more comprehensive service offering to customers."
