Advanced Imaging Systems LLC (AIS) is adding parts repair to its service portfolio following the acquisition of Dedicated Imaging Solutions LLC.

The Florida-based MR and CT inventory provider will leverage the resources of Dedicated, such as its multiple CT and MR QA bays, to expand its full-service capabilities to propel growth in domestic and international third-party markets, particularly in Europe.

“The third-party market in Europe is growing twice as fast as it did in the U.S. There are a lot of U.S. executives in Europe who are hoping to grow that third-party sector of the market,” Charles “Chad” Fowlkes, owner and chief manager of Dedicated Imaging Solutions, told HCB News. “With the amount of inventory, repair processes and testing procedures we have, we will be able to complement this growth by supplying multiple parts in Europe and providing a longer exchange rate to get parts back from there, which is one of the largest issues.”

Under Dedicated, all parts within its CT and MR QA bays are repaired to standards of OEM specifications and quality before being released into inventory. The parts repair enterprise also operates under quality standards of ISO-13485 with full certification expected by the end of 2018.

In addition to parts repair, Dedicated is equipped with proprietary X-ray tube repair protocols as well as a new in-house coil repair lab, built with the assistance of AIS, which will also offer the Nashville company greater access to necessary parts, such as those for GE’s LightSpeed and BrightSpeed CT series, and its MR systems from the 9X to the newer 450 and 750 solutions.

Such access holds the potential to not only expand Dedicated’s customer base but further its status as a supplier of fully refurbished, system-tested, ISO-13485 parts and equipment, along with other AIS services that include installation and deinstallation of imaging equipment; mobile CT and MR upgrades; and its complete turnkey management offerings.

The combination of these capabilities, according to Scott Simmons, president of AIS, enables AIS to provide cost-effective digital imaging equipment, services and parts to satisfy the growing demands and needs of Europe’s third-party market, one of the main objectives of the agreement, as well as those of U.S. and other areas worldwide.

“We have a lot of spare parts for the third-party industry,” he told HCB News. “Europe is another avenue where we can sell these parts. It’s another revenue stream.”

Under the agreement, Dedicated will retain its location in Tennessee as well as its name, due to the success of its brand. AIS will remain in Pompano Beach, Florida.

All employees at both will retain their positions, with the companies looking to hire additional staff to support repair and expected growth from the acquisition.
