An international contingent
of regulators met recently
in Washington
On the occasion of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Centennial year, the FDA hosted an inaugural international summit of heads of medical products regulatory agencies in Washington, D.C., November 16-17, 2006.
Foreign principals attending the summit were the senior executive officers (counterpart to the FDA Commissioner) from the medical products regulatory agencies of Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the European Union, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, in addition to the Assistant Director General of the World Health Organization responsible for medical products.
