Once considered a rare disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is now the fourth most common psychiatric diagnosis, affecting about 1 in 50 adults and about 1 in 100 school-aged children. In this workshop, you will gain an in-depth understanding of how to conduct a detailed assessment and apply cognitive-behavioral strategies including exposure and ritual prevention techniques in the treatment of OCD. Appropriate for intermediate and advanced level practitioners of social work and other mental health professionals.

Each year in the United States more than five million children experience or witness a traumatic event. At this workshop you will learn how to recognize the markers of trauma in children, identify family dynamics that can impact treatment and recovery, and integrate aspects of traditional trauma therapy, attachment therapy and play therapy with a family-centered treatment approach to support and sustain recovery. Appropriate for intermediate to advanced level practitioners of social work and other mental health professionals.

1) Distinguish the symptoms of childhood trauma from other behavioral disturbances and mental health disorders seen in children.
2) Implement developmentally appropriate interventions for trauma-based disorders in children.
