Two medical pioneers pass

por Sean Ruck, Contributing Editor | September 02, 2015
The New York Times reported last month the death of two medical pioneers.

Dr. Forrest M. Bird, who died at the age of 94, developed "four generations of cardiopulmonary devices that came to be widely used in homes and hospitals," according to the Times.

The newspaper reported that in the 1950s and '60s, Bird "pioneered some of the first portable and reliable mechanical ventilators" for those suffering from chronic and acute heart and lung afflictions.
