Novation LLC., one of the country's biggest group purchasing organizations, said Tuesday it hired ex-MD Buyline executive Mike Clemens to take the reins of its capital equipment and imaging division.

The Irving, Texas-based GPO said Clemens would serve as vice president of capital equipment and diagnostic imaging, where he'll lead and execute the GPO's contract activities in this area.

According to his LinkedIn page, Clemens has spent the past 24 years with MD Buyline, a Dallas-based firm that helps hospitals and health systems make health equipment and service purchasing decisions. Most recently he served as executive vice president, but he also acted as CEO for two years, Novation said.
