Aramark Healthcare has bought privately held medical equipment service company Masterplan Inc. and parts vendor ReMedPar Inc., DOTmed News has learned. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
News of the deal follows months of speculation that Berskshire Partners LLC., a Boston investment group that owned Masterplan and ReMedPar, was mulling a sale. Philadelphia-based equipment service and management firm Aramark was long rumored to be the purchaser.
As part of the deal, Aramark also acquires Masterplan's two-year-old, Lugano, Switzerland-based counterpart, Medical Equipment Solutions & Applications, Sagl (MESA).
Aramark did not indicate that the deal would affect the company's pre-existing relationships with other parts vendors.
"We have had longstanding collaborative relationships with a number of parts providers and look forward to continuing to work with them to best serve the needs of our hospital partners and our expanded business," Chris Collom, a company spokesman, told DOTmed News by e-mail.
Masterplan, also known as Cohr, Inc., services advanced imaging equipment, such as CT, MRI and PET scanners, and is based in Chatsworth, Calif. ReMedPar Inc., a third-party parts vendor, is based in Goodlettsville, Tenn.
