Radiology Oncology Systems, Inc. (R.O.S.) is betting that the aging of the world's population will mean more opportunities to install cancer-fighting equipment worldwide. R.O.S., headquartered in San Diego, CA, is happy to have its home city host the 52nd annual conference of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology(ASTRO).

"We have four principle customers for refurbished radiation therapy equipment, and we will be
engaging all four groups at this year's ASTRO conference," notes John Vano, President of R.O.S.


The four groups include:
1. U.S. hospitals that need secondary or back-up equipment to treat growing patient
volumes, both at their main hospitals and at satellite clinics.
2. Independent clinics that seek to establish lower-cost facilities, such as those with low
patient volumes or those in remote areas.
3. Radiation therapy clinic networks that relocate equipment frequently and require a mix of new & refurbished equipment.
4. International customers, which in many cases require refurbished solutions to make
opening their centers feasible.

Michael Teague, Director of U.S. Sales, comments "Years ago, only smaller, independent
clinics sought refurbished radiation therapy equipment, namely linear accelerators, CT
Simulators, and brachytherapy units, but today, we see a lot more demand from hospitals and
networks." He adds, "Having a refurbished machine doesn't mean you have an inferior product, since virtually every machine in use today is considered 'used' after the first patient is
treated."

ASTRO attracts radiation oncologists and physicists from all over the world, and Julia Keneipp, Director of International Sales, is ready to meet and greet customers from virtually every continent. "We see linear accelerators replacing older cobalt systems every year, in every corner of the world, and more and more they look to refurbished equipment to help get their
practices started."

ASTRO visits San Diego fairly infrequently, so R.O.S. is showing off its home city. "We are
thrilled to have this year's ASTRO conference in our beloved city of San Diego, CA," explains
