Carrot Medical inked a deal with Mavig GmbH to gain access to its distribution channels outside North America, the Boston-based company announced Wednesday.
The semi-exclusive agreement lets the young medical information integration and display company reach Mavig's customers while letting the nearly 90-year-old German business offer Carrot's new OR monitors and communication technology. Mavig, around since the 1920s, makes suspension equipment for monitors and protective vests for radiology.
"It provides Mavig access to new innovative technology and something they can use for their product profile, and what it provides Carrot is access to Mavig's global channel network," Carrot CEO Ward Sparacio told DOTmed News.
Under the deal, the three-year-old Carrot will still handle what Sparacio called "new construction markets" outside North America -- at least, for now. Sparacio said Carrot is in talks with other companies for these markets, but he declined to elaborate.
"This is the first of probably what is going to be several channel relationships that we announce throughout the course of this year," he said.
