New leadership at
Medical Imaging and
Technology Alliance (MITA)
Former Senate adviser David Fisher is set to take the reins of the Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA), a medical device industry lobbying group and a division of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, according to the organization.

Fisher is expected to start in mid-October, replacing former head Illyse Schuman, who is decamping for Littler Mendelson, a major labor law firm.

Fisher, who has spent the last 12 years in Washington holding various senior positions in government, such as associate director of the Office of Management and Budget, is stepping down from his current post as the Senate Budget Committee's resident Medicare expert. Before entering government, Fisher was a lobbyist for Medtronic.

Ensure critical devices are ready to go

Keep biomedical devices ready to go, so care teams can be ready to care for patients. GE HealthCare’s ReadySee™ helps overcome frustrations due to lack of network and device visibility, manual troubleshooting, and downtime.

MITA told DOTmed News that Fisher will help the group focus on the issues most important to the imaging community, such as access to diagnostic care and handling Medicare reimbursement issues.
