CME for Opthalmic
Professionals now online
As the web increasingly shifts to a venue for education and training, the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Opthalmology (JCAHPO) and the Association of Technical Personnel in Opthalmology (ATPO) have collaborated on a series of webinars to target this $50 billion-a-year-and-growing specialty.

While the transition to online education has been in development for ophthalmic professionals, combining interactivity with valuable content has been a logistical ordeal. The president of JCAHPO, William H. Ehlers, cites the association's core educational principles as the impetus for the integrity of content and standards.

The courses now offered reflect trends in learning, convenience for users and quality educational standards, according to Ehlers. He said that ophthalmic professionals "need better access to continuing education resources that provide all the benefits of on-site training while reducing cost, travel, and personnel's time outside the practice."
