Voluson 730PRO

September 30, 2017 04:42

We´re having a little trouble in here.
We tried to install the SW into a Voluson 730 PRO with BT05 (5.0.2) but everytime we do that the system is unable to continue the boot from the DVD disk.
I managed to open the DVD menu for reloading the software, I turned off the machine to make a HDD image, the I restarted the machine and I was never able again to continue with the reload because the DVD fails to continue the process.
I thought the DVD disc was badly so I burned again the image and the result was always the same.
I tried to boot with the discs in other platforms and the discs always shows the same message.
Any ideas about why the DVD disc is unable to continue its process?
The boot order is OK with USB-CD room as first priority, the HDD is set as master.
By the way, I´m trying to replace the BT05 5.0.2 with the 5.0.5 (are there any major differences between both versions?)
Hope anybody can lend me a hand with this

Howdy Billy,

The system should load 5.0.5 without a problem. I wonder if someone put a different DVD drive in it, one not supported by GE's software? It should be a Yamaha DVD+(R)W with an IDE interface. There is a USB to IDE converter inside the GEM box that houses the drives.

Do you know if there is a Full System Backup saved to the hard drive? The R partition should contain all the software, Window, Applications and the Option key(s) that are needed to get your system running.

Also, have you tested the hard drive to see if it is OK. The software load may be failing because of bad sectors on the disk.

Best regards,
Jim Carr
