It all depends of what type of artifact you have: Is it a pattern that repeats from the center of the image to the border with concentric rings?
If it is laike that I can almost assure you that the artifact is present in all the images. It probably is not obvious because there is not much absortion than in abdomen. I am sure that if you do a head phantom and the you window and level you finally will be able to see the same pattern.
Try to do full calibration of air and all phantoms and see if in that way the pattern go away.
I would like to know what type of image artifact you have. Is it possible you can send me a picture?

Could you describe the type of artifact coming in the system when doing the abdomen scan? is that ring or streak artifact?

That is all I can tell you for now.

Is the artifact on the outside of the image?
