Dear college,
We need some information and help to start Picker IQ premier Extra.Problem is:
error (hang on system) during bootstrap:
only " - " character on ELTP screen
Picker logo on image monitor
no halted CPU
8 and 1 on CPU display
HD power OK
tape drive works
performed actions:
boards and cables reseated
minimum configuration
check SCSI configuration and termination
diagnostic SW not available
OS SW not available
NV RAM (Dallas chip) on our board (CPB 177284) is out of date (manufactured 1993, 10yrs normal life time of chip battery)
If somebody have experience please help.

you problem is boot.
You need to reinstall complete software because is hang up during the boot.
if you have problems let me know also for spare parts.

sounds like a software problem. let me know if previously you got the message "starting disk" "spin up complete" or other
try reinstalling the soft. you ll need a tape named pity for that purpose

As the system comes up, press CR or return to go to the menu prior to allowing it to AUTOBOOT.
Once there, run #3 directory structure test
Then run, #4or5 rebuild database
This will take a while, however, good chance it will repair the issues.

run ring diagnostics to watch what sector is dirty on slip ring, clean slip ring 9, 10 ,11,12
