The GE LightSpeed Plus features a detector layout consisting of sixteen 0.63mm detectors banks and eight 1.25 mm detector banks. The scanner features GE's MDMP reconstruction algorithm a version of the ASSR technique. The Light Speed Pro has a different x-ray tube, generator and gantry to enable higher mA techniques and faster scan times. There are currently two versions of this system denoted 80 and 100, with the number referring to the generator output in kW.
