The Siemens Acuson P300 portable ultrasound is a shared service ultrasound system. This system provides top of the line 2D color ultrasound images, is capable of employing integral image enhancing technologies, and is compatible with top of the line transducers.

The P300 is capable of producing images for over a dozen ultrasound applications including; Abdominal, Cardiac, Breast, Thyroid and Testicular (all under "Small Parts" categories. Women's Health applications include urological, vaginal and OB-GYN applications, along with stress echo, vascular, transcranial doppler, musculoskeletal and pediatrics. This system's ability to project images for such a wide array of applications makes it extremely desirable for all diagnosticians - from imaging centers to hospitals to private practices.

Another facet of the P300 that is accommodating and convenient is it's size and portability. Often times, portable machines are so small that it is difficult to make out the image that is being displayed, while the stationary systems tend to take up lots of office space and are hard to move. Siemens Acuson seems to have found the perfect blend between the two - creating a system large enough to see top quality images, but compact and easy to transport. It is compatible with a rolling cart to turn the machine into a more secure stationary system if necessary.

Aside from the ergonomics and versatility regarding ultrasound applications, the P300 utilizes some crucial image enhancing technologies. A variety of modes, including M-Mode / 2D Mode, Color Doppler and Power Doppler are available. These modes, along with panoramic imaging, compound imaging, tissue harmonic imaging, triplex mode and speckle reduction, make the images on this machine pristine, clear and high caliber.

The P300 is compatible with an assortment of ultrasound machines that range from low frequency ranges for deeper penetration, to higher frequency ranges for more shallow images. Curved array, endocavitary, linear, CW (continuous wave), hockey stick and micro-convex array transducers are just some of the probes that are compatible with this system.
