Manufacturers Description

The Microm HM355 S is a reliable heavy duty rotary microtome designed for efficient sectioning of paraffin and other hard specimens for biological, medicinal, and industrial applications. The systems advanced ergonomic design features an integrated armrest for optimal user comfort, and a spacious section waste tray around the knife carrier for direct collection of section waste. Moreover, this high functioning microtome can accommodate all specimen clamps and knife carriers of the rotary microtome HM 300 series.

The HM355 S offers four modes of operation: interval, single, multi, and continuous stroke. The system features an electronically-controlled motor drive with precision tachogenerator which ensures exceptionally fast adjustment to section force variations and uniform cutting speed. This Microm model also employs a motorized coarse feed system which allows forward and backward travel of both continuous and graduated specimen using three different speed settings, as well as easy adjustment of specimen and knife edge distance.

Emergency stop devices of the Microm HM355 S microtome include an electromechanical handwheel brake and handwheel handle.

Condition & Testing

This Microm HM355-S Automatic / Manual Rotary Microtome & Blade Holder is in good cosmetic condition but it is being sold for parts and/or repair. When plugged in and tested the cooling fan runs however nothing else powers on. We checked the fuses and they are good. No further diagnostic testing has been done.Comes with 1knife holder and no specimen holder. The blade holder looks good to go. All manual adjustments do work, but the console doesn't power on. The unit is missing the emergency stop button switch. May be an easy fix for someone with knowledge of these machines, or a good parts unit.
