Pete Cofressi and Jenny Ji

March 05, 2003 07:52

I have learned that Mr. Pete Cofressi is circulating an email as a defense concerning his actions on a CT sale to Ms. Jenny Ji. Readers of this forum know that the sale went bad.
In his e mail Pete makes incorrect statements IAMERS and my role in this situation. I will correct those statements here. As the President of IAMERS I was contacted by Jenny Ji when she was unable to receive repayment of a deposit for a CT Pete Cofressi sold but would not, or could not provide. Ms Ji requested IAMERS help in securing a return of her deposit. Because neither Ms. Ji, or Mr. Cofressi were members of IAMERS, I informed her that IAMERS lacked any authority to resolve this problem, unless both parties agreed to our Ethics hearing process. Neither party agreed to do so.
Immediately thereafter and for severl weeks following, Mr Cofressi began an unending barrage of phone calls. He admitted that there were problems with the CT, but claimed that the contract gave him the right to keep Ms. Ji's deposit. Mr. Cofressi did not choose to submit to an ethics IAMERS hearing, but instead kept trying to send me copies of his contract. I repeatedly informed him that I had no training or authority to review, or judge the validity of his contract. Mr. Cofressi sent it any way.
Mr. Cofressi never mentioned anything about Ms. Ji attempting to circumvent his relationship with his seller. After his phone calls had become so frequent that they were distracting me from my work, suggested that he could save everyone a great deal of time and energy by refunding the deposit. He obviously did not take my advice. For the record, IAMERS was never involved. IAMERS has a well defined ethics grievance process. This process requires either the defendant be an IAMERS member, or both defendant and complainant agree to submit to the IAMERS ethic process and abide by IAMERS finding. This did not occur. Donald Bogutski never rendered
any decision after reviewing the contract. My recommendation of return of the deposit was based solely on common sense.

Pete Cofresi sent out an email to many people and said that I tried to cheat him. That is not true. Many people know me and know I am honest. No man or woman ever say anything bad about me, only Pete.

5 people say that Pete has their money and Pete say that he does not. Who do you believe? The 5 people or Pete?

Pete blames Mike Carter for all his problems. I wonder how could he be so stupid for so many months? He want to say that Mike Carter tricked him in December, in January and in February. Is he not smart or too smart?

All the words that Pete said about me are just smoke, I ask Pete where is my $8,000 $8000 is not smoke it is real!

The 4 other people ask Pete where is my money?

Pete you say I tried to go behind you. But that is not true, I never do like that.

You should be ashamed of yourself if you take money and give no machine.

I say to everyone everywhere, my advise is do not give money to Pete Cofresi!

Update on the situation with Pete Cofresi:

Mr. Cofresi has contacted ICS regarding the situation. He has promised to make a partial payment next week towards the money he owes us.

To put this in the proper context, Mr. Cofresi has twice promised to send the full amount back as a refund. Obviously he did not make good on those promises. Mr. Mike Carter has also made numerous promises to return our money, giving specific dates. No money or cameras have been delivered.

If Mr. Cofresi send us any money at all, I will promptly report it on this forum.

Can someone tell us what company name these crooks work under? I want to make sure to never do any business with them whatsoever. Jenny Ji, I certainly believe you 100%. So sorry you and the other 5 were swindled. I will make sure niether I or any affiliated companies I deal with do business with these men. I feel like pounding them. I am likely big enough at 6'2 200 to do it too ;) They are going around ripping off nice people. Trusting people. Soon they will meet their doom. Someone please post their company name , and keep posting it should they change it.

PUBLIC COMPLAINT
BE CAREFUL IN ANY NEGOTIATION WITH THIS PERSON!

We have purchased PETE COFRESI from ARQ Medical Systems, LLC. An MRI GE OVATION in Puerto Rico, this equipment was uninstalled by our engineers and the activity was coordinated by Mr. EDWIN RODRIGUEZ; the equipment was paid in full to PETE COFRESI by bank transfer.
Days later, the rigging was going to be done when Mr. EDWIN RODRIGUEZ informs us that PETE COFRESI owes him the sum of $3,500.00 agreed between them, and that since PETE COFRESI had not paid them, he would not allow the removal of the equipment. for his gear.
Given this circumstance and in order to be able to respond to the commitments made to my clients, I had to send a check from Artec Group Services to avoid the suspension of the withdrawal procedure, bearing in mind that a crane had been hired and the consequences would be greater, hoping that subsequently PETE COFRESI responds to Mr. EDWIN RODRIGUEZ for the commitments acquired with him.
PETE COFRESI never returned to answer our calls, or whatsapp messages, or emails, the same thing happened to Mr. EDWIN RODRIGUEZ, he never answered for his debt, he is an irresponsible person.
Due to the above, we ask all DOTMED members to refrain from doing business with this character, who also has many more complaints in DOTMED, confirming that PETE COFRESI and his company ARQ Medical Systems is not trustworthy and is a terrible example of businessman. Be careful.

I happened to be dealing with the leasing company who owned the unit at the time. Peter never even had a contract on the system. He took a deposit from Jenny, but told her that she could not inspect the system until it was fully paid. First time I ever heard such a thing, doing business in used medical equipment for over eight years! I frankly told Jenny giving Peter any more money is like the old Chinese saying "throwing meat balls at a hungry dog, you are not going to get anything back". This guy did not have the machine and would not return the deposit. The nicest word I can call him is "a thug".
