11. URGENT CARE GAINS GROUND - In New York and other cities, we are witnessing a shift in how the average person seeks medical care. Increasingly, people with minor problems like a twisted ankle or a sinus infection are utilizing walk-in clinics like CityMD as a convenient way to get checked out and many of them even provide X-ray services. So, while the industry is consolidating it is also extended its reach into our local neighborhoods.

12. REMOTE MONITORING WILL CHANGE WORKFLOW - On the surface we may think of asset tracking as a way to make sure a portable ultrasound unit can be found when it's needed but that type of functionality is just the tip of the iceberg. With all the data constantly being accumulated on these systems, it is only a matter of time before workflow is revolutionized and as a consequence, care delivery will be much more efficient.
