Five Minutes in Healthcare - Uday Kumar

by Philip F. Jacobus, CEO | February 07, 2024
Uday Kumar
Five Minutes in Healthcare is where I discuss current events with some of the industry's most influential leaders.

Today I am joined by cardiologist Uday Kumar, president and CEO of Element Science, to talk about how his company is addressing a blind spot in the care of patients recovering from an acute cardiovascular event.

His company has developed a wearable device (weighing less than one pound) that can detect lethal heart rhythms and deliver a life saving shock to save the patient's life. By targeting this "bridge period" in care, Element Science is striving to "deliver more tomorrows" to patients using its technology.

In this interview we also explore how advanced algorithms have made the technology possible, and why an inclusive approach to business can yield superior results.

We hope you enjoy the conversation. Please tell us what you think, and let us know who you would like to see interviewed next.
