Philips Ingenia MR system
Insightec has announced that its Exablate Prime system has received FDA approval and CE mark for integration with select Philips MR scanners.
This development broadens access to noninvasive, MR-guided focused ultrasound treatments for patients with essential tremor and certain symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
The Exablate Prime system is now compatible with Philips 1.5T and 3.0T Ingenia systems, the Ambition 1.5T, the Elition 3.0T, and the MR 7700 3.0T. These additions are expected to increase the number of treatment centers equipped to offer the technology.

Previously, Exablate Prime was compatible with select MR scanners from GE HealthCare and Siemens Healthineers.
"This is the result of a dedicated collaboration between Insightec and Philips," said Maurice R. Ferré, Insightec CEO and chairman of the board. "Our goal is to make these groundbreaking solutions accessible to more treatment centers, ultimately benefitting patients with cutting-edge care."
Focused ultrasound, guided by MR, enables targeted treatment of tremors in a single outpatient procedure, often with immediate improvement and minimal complications. Insightec's technology has been FDA-approved and CE-marked for patients whose essential tremor or Parkinson’s disease symptoms do not respond to medication.
Insightec, headquartered in Haifa, Israel, and Miami, continues to explore new applications for its technology in neuroscience in collaboration with academic and medical institutions.
